OK- this is just too cool to keep quiet about… http://librivox.org/

Free audio books via podcast

“A podcast is a way to automatically download audiofiles to your computer from a specific show, or “feed.” You can listen on your computer, on a portable media device such as an ipod, or you can burn the files to a CD and listen on a regular stereo. In order to get podcasts onto your computer, you’ll need some podcatching software, such as iTunes or Juice…. For more detailed instructions, see our Guide for Listeners (wiki). “

Old stuff- Shakespeare, etc- out of copyright or they couldn’t do it. It’s similar to the books by e-mail (I’m enjoying my Agatha Christie e-mails) but you listen to it!

English classes, Adult literacy, ESL, Humanities… what fun- The Velveteen Rabbit is in here for Early Childhood.
