Here is how to access your student email addresses.
If you plan to cancel a class (such as not being able to come in because you’re sick), this is how you can access your student email addresses (listed by class). This way your students won’t have to drive to campus for your class just to find out by the note on the door that the class has been canceled.
1. Go to http://www.northmetrotech.edu/intranet/reports/index.html (NMTC/Intranet/Technical Support/New Banner Reports)
2. Select: Enter Secure Reports Area
3. Screenname: northmetrotech\username (ex: northmetrotech\ckisor)
4. Password: ******
(Your user name and password will probably be one that you use to get on the office/classroom computer(s), check your BANNER Web, etc.)
5. Select: Faculty
6. Select: Class Roster
7. Fill out the required fields (3 fields)
8. Select: Email
That’s it, you’re ready to send bulk class messages! (They are listed by class.)
VERY IMPORTANT For student privacy, make sure you use the “Bcc” (Blind Carbon Copy) for the student’s addresses. After that, just enter your work email address in the “To” field to send.
Note: In the new MS Outlook (2007), if you can’t see the “Bcc” field, click on the “Options” ribbon and select “Show Bcc.”
