These self tests may help you discover if you’re information literate.

The library purchased a book for professional development,” Information Literacy Instruction That Works”. There are helpful chapters on creating lessons and projects that tie research to the specific program. The book is aimed at post secondary institutions with sections for community colleges.
The bottom line is we need to be able to figure out where to get the “answer” and to figure out if it’s correct! Our students will need to be life long learners. That life long learning will involve discerning what is a “good” source for information.
If you feel inclined- play with the sites in our Is This Real section http://del.icio.us/NMTC_Librarian/IsThisReal
Can you tell if they are accurate?
I’d be glad to work with you creating projects that help your students become information literate in your program area. Once we create a project for a class….it’s done J you can use it quarter after quarter….well, till we need to revamp it……research isn’t just for English papers.
